It’s So Important to Teach Morals and Wisdom to Your Kids Starting When They Are Young
Children have the ability to learn so much starting at a young age. Their minds are like sponges, absorbing the information they take in. They repeat what they see and hear. So why not let them hear and see good things on a regular basis? And to take it a step further they need to be taught how to be strong in their Biblical foundations so they do not slip when negative temptation comes.
As parents, we can teach our kids at a young age how to live right. Their childhood experiences will affect their adult life. There are some adults who find themselves in very detrimental life situations because they were never taught right from wrong consistently as a child. They were told it was wrong after they committed the act, which by then sometimes might be too late. You don't have to wait until something negative happens in children’s lives to begin teaching them important lessons. You can be proactive and start teaching them morals and wisdom right now. For example, you can be proactive in teaching your young children that cheating and stealing are wrong so that they won’t do it.
Also teaching children about something one time is not enough for the information to sink in. They need to learn wisdom often. Just like it takes time to learn and improve in academics and sports, it takes time to learn and understand morals. The earlier you start teaching your kids the correct way to live according to Biblical standards, the better. Unfortunately, there are many books, TV shows, and schools that are negatively indoctrinating our kids with views that contradict with the Bible. For example, the Bible clearly says marriage should be between a man and woman, but kids are being exposed to TV shows that promote families with same sex couples. And if kids are constantly watching this and not being taught by their parents that it’s wrong, eventually they will think that it’s okay and appropriate.
Over the years, I’ve continued to study childhood research and theology because I want to make a positive difference in the lives of children- including those who I will never meet. I am very passionate about this and God has placed on my heart to create resources that will encourage and inform parents during their parenting journey. We are definitely living in a time where there is so much danger, evil, and dishonesty taking place in society- and it’s reaching our youth. As parents, it’s imperative that we do our part to raise our kids to do good by following moral standards that align with the Bible. Please take some time to download the Parenting Toolkits that can be found on the Free Resources and Shop pages. They are lessons that you can easily read aloud to your kids and then have a discussion with them so you can help positively guide them through life. I hope they will be a blessing to you and your family.
